Men's Camp
August is always the tail end of the re-runs on TV. Everyone
has seen enough of "Jurassic Park Two" to last them until
Christmas, when the next major movies are released. But the
good news is its time to see old friends and make new ones.
The men's camp will start at 5 P.M., August 8 and end Sunday
August 10 at 1 P.M. at Camp Merrill, Linwood Nebraska. our
speaker for the retreat will be Duncan MacIntosh. The theme
for the Camp is "Think New".
If you like tennis, golf or horse shoes, that will be part of
the recreational activities. Also the pool will be open.
For your spiritual rejuvenation there will be vespers and to
strengthen your spiritual life, devotions aimed at being an

evenings, following vespers there will be fellowship and
snacks.

Disaster Relief Opportunity
At our last ABMen of Nebraska Executive Board meeting I
discussed with the board the opportunity to help our brothers
and sisters in Christ in the Dakotas and the Ohio Valley that
had been dealt a raging flood this spring. Most felt that
they had already been given the opportunity through local
giving. Since that was not my case I felt I should
personally send my small contribution you the ABMen - USA
Disaster Relief Fund. If you are like me and either wasn't
present when a collection was taken or none was taken at your
local church perhaps you would like to help those families
who lost everything and give God the Glory through a gift to:
The American Baptist Men - USA, Attn: Disaster Relief Fund
P.O. Box 851 Valley Forge, PA 19482-9896.
Your gift may be small but when God's people get together
through prayer and sacrificial giving then He can make the
miracle happen. Perhaps not $2,000 but giving the widows mite
is the key.

Re: D/R progress 7/96 to present
Date: June 3, 1997
It has been a busy but rewarding year for ABMen Disaster
Relief although our official in service date was a little
later than we had hoped, I feel the extra time was worth it
in that it gave us a better chance to prepare for our maiden
voyage. Below is a summary of accomplishments in
chronological order.
July 1996 - Baptist Men's Conference at Green Lake, WI. Held
D/R workshops as well as ARC certification courses for
prospective team leaders.
August 1996 - DRR Regional ABMen Convention. Conducted D/R
workshops, trailer was on display with shelves installed. NY
State AB Convention - Conducted D/R workshops, ABMen D/R
received Sunday Offering.
October 1996 - Picked up tools for trailer, unit was on
display at the ABC GRR Convention in Columbia MO.
Over the winter months the men of the GRR completed much of
the work needed to get the trailer operational, such as
installing the remaining shelves, fabricating the bunks, etc.
